Dana 44 - Axle Shaft Question
So the front axle has been leaking on the passenger side of my truck. I've just been putting fluid in it every so often. But I figured I'd like to stop the leak.
I've been living in an apartment (can't work on cars there), and because of vehicle limits, I can't even have my truck there (I have multiple vehicles, and the truck is my secondary vehicle). The truck lives at my parents house. My dad had a mechanic come out to the house to do some work for him on one of his vehicles, and I had given my dad the cash to have the mechanic fix the leaky seal while he was there. The seal was replaced, and the mechanic noticed that the teeth on the axle were worn and was causing the axle shaft to wobble, ruining the seal which caused the leak. The axle shaft was not replaced, just the seal, and now the axle leaks again (this was a year ago).
So here is my question: Is it likely that I just need a new axle shaft and a new seal for the truck? Or is the gear assembly likely to also be worn and need to be replaced?
FYI: Truck has 193,000+ miles on it, and I do know that the previous owner used the truck off-road quite a bit.

Passenger side is CAD side, so, replace the inner axle stub, axle seal, and perhaps the sliding collar that engages the axle, and also the bushing that is between the two axles. (I think it's just a nylon bushing....)
In all reality, it may just be the bushing itself that is bad, and allowing the axle to dance. There is a second bushing (or, perhaps, bearing) that supports the inner axle, you would want to check that one as well.
