Default A/C & Heater Problem --- Weird

I have a 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab 5.9 - While the blower is running either in A/C or just fan, my heater kicks in about every 15 seconds or so, blows "hot air" then goes back to a/c or fan.

I'm guessing it's not the a/c but I have no idea where to look... weird!

Any ideas?

Welcome to DF!

On the bottom of the heater box, toward the passenger side of the trans tunnel, there is a little electric motor that controls the temp door. The coupler between the motor, and the axle the door is on, tends to crack, and you get some odd behavior. I would start by 'centering' the temp dial, wait a minute, turn the truck off, and then drop the little motor, and see what the coupler looks like.
