2000 Ram, the light never stayed on I had a friend put in a new steering box now it stays on LOL, reminds me of my 1976 Dodge always had some sort of funny thing with the electrical going on. I tried disconnecting the battery and left it off for a hour this morning, no changes, any ideas? Definitely have a ghost in the machine, but it steers nice now!!

 

Wonder if your friend thrashed the clockspring while the steering box was out...... Might check and see if any of the local parts store can read SRS codes.....

 

Or take off the new steering wheel and check things over...
