Default Specific shock upgrade

I'd like to replace my stock shocks. They are original and my truck bounces out of control on small bumps.

I am merely trying to add a little more stiffness to my ride. I am not off roading-but do haul and trailer often.

Looking for a stock upgrade that is bolt on ready-

Finally...is it worth replacing springs? Fronts tears? Both?

Monroe gas magnums are great shocks.

I second Monroe. No need to replace the springs unless they are broken/sagging.

Me also! The Ranchos have better dampening then a stock replacement.

As a side note, Rancho are made by Monroe... all under the Tenneco umbrella.

But they made the stock shock also.

I'm quite happy with the Bilsteins on mine.

You might want to defer the spring decision until after you've ridden on the new shocks at least once, if not for a month or so, unless you find that the truck is listing or drooping once the new shocks are on. If you decide to upgrade to heavy duty units and don't need a cool vinyl sticker, the Dayton HD's are worth looking into. The best price I found on them was at an outfit called Stengel Bros. somewhere in Pennsylvania -- they've got a web site.

What are the odds?! Stengel bros is about 20 mins from me. Prices are great-I may replace springs automatically-hell for $80 why not

Thank you
