Pulling off tranny
the last time I did a clutch on a 4x4 i split the tranny & transfer case, pulled the case off 1st, then the tranny. this made pulling the tranny out much easier to balance on the jack. also i'd suggest getting a tranny jack to help you. the standard shop jack just wont cut it.
make sure you get the flywheel turned, pull out the pilot bearing and install a new one. check your slave cylinder for any leakage and re-build it if it is leaking.
one trick for getting the clutch lined back up is when your installing the tranny, if you can (depends on the setup) have the slave cylinder remounted and have someone in the cab push the clutch pedal in as your putting the tranny in. this way you release the pressure plate and the clutch will line it'self up when you slide in the tranny.
