Default 97 ram 1500 firing order/wire connections
I have a 97 ram 1500 4x4 bought it from a putz think its wired wrong. does anyone have a diagram? also how do I identify the transmission

Download a service manual, that will give you the firing order. A build sheet will give you the trans.

If it's an auto, its a 46RE. If its a manual, highly likely to be the NV3500.
