I recently put the window down on my 99 ram 2500 and it wouldn't go back up. i pulled the door cover off and tried to shut the window. The motor just hums for a while then shuts itself off and then hums and shuts itself off without me using the switch. I assumed the motor was bad and replaced the whole regulator assembly. When I hooked up the new motor it immediately ran the regulator to the down position and the motor kept humming and shutting down and resetting itself and then humming again. The motor is getting very hot. I unhooked the pigtail. it acts like the down button is on full time.

any ideas on what to do. thanks

 

Bad switch. Since it is the drivers door, I would suggest replacing the drivers side switch. (of course, its the most expensive one......)
