You might want to do a DIY write-up on this though...

I'm also not a fan of the soft copper nickel brake lines - might want to purchase two of these kits from Amazon that consist of 25' 3/16" steel brake line and armor guard, plus assorted fittings.

Steel brake lines aren't terribly hard to bend - a basic tubing bender is helpful, along with some patience. Watch some YouTube videos to get the hang of it. A quality double flaring tool is also a must to create leak free tube flares

Before you start this job, spray down all of the existing brake line fittings with PB Blaster to make them easier to remove. Also, pick up a quality 3/8" flare nut wrench to ensure you don't round off the new brake line fittings during installation.

Lastly, please add information about your truck and its options. Seems to be a 2000 Ram 3500, but its helpful to know what options you have (2WD vs 4WD), engine size, ABS options, etc. Photos of questionable items also help us to help get you the right answers.

I may consider your suggestions for steel. The kit I am considering has 25 of the rock coil guard. That should protect the lines?
Yes, spraying the lines/fittings each day. Doubt they will come undone.

Ok it works. All that streaking on the frame etc is Grempler Rust stopper sprayed all over the lines and other rusty areas. It might keep the lines from getting worse. I hope to change them this month (Sept)

vmaxept, I took a look at your rusty brake line photos. Those lines should come apart fairly easily - as I mentioned, get a good 3/8" flare nut wrench and tap it with a hammer and they will come loose. When I replaced the brake lines on my truck (which was once a snow plow truck), my lines looked much worse than those. BTW, that 90 degree block on the frame rail isn't required - you can run the line straight - I had the same issue with my truck.

When you have a moment, please update your profile (vehicle information) with your truck's option information, so that each of your posts will have that info in it.

Just ordered complete front kit from SSTUBES through Amazon. I did the intermediate, and rear last year. Should have done them all! Front line, driver side went yesterday!
Here's the Amazon link...saved just a few bucks:

I called many suppliers, none have the kits for my truck 3500 and EXT Cab not quad.
So I am going with the copper - Nickel and protected covering. Might use some 1/4 split flex wire loom tubing - easy to cover all the exposed lines.
See next post-- I have other problems like over heat..More to come

If you have four doors (even though the rears are half-doors), that is considered a quad cab by most aftermarket shops. After all, the 2nd gens NEVER came with four REAL doors.

Yes correct. I explained that to a few of the custom shops-- they said no to a 3500 also.
I have worse issues now.. beginning to think I got a bad deal with this truck

Jury is still out there.

Hand-bending line really isn't that bad. The Copper/Nickel stuff actually bends fairly easily. No tools required. (but, the nifty tool does give you nice bends.) Just don't kink it.

I rarely, if ever, will buy pre-bent lines, no matter how many I am replacing.... Unless it's a show truck.... and even then...... I can be pretty creative.
