Default Cabin Filter Installed in 2001 Pics!

Hey guys, I recently did the heater and AC evaporator cores, I found lots of junk clogging the AC core as it's first to catch all the debris and dirt in the air which turns into mud cement when it hits the wet condensation of the AC. AC was about 70% blocked no joke. Not to mention I've actually had a bee or two come completely through the vent and bounce off me!
So to protect my investment I found these vent filters at Geno's Garage, only filter I could find for our trucks. Only took about 20 minutes to install. They cost about $65

I've been considering those as well... just to keep annoying leaves out of the fan.
I'm sure my cores look the same as yours, and likely explains why my A/C is not as efficient as it use to be.

Is the filter element just a foam strip?... is it easy to remove/clean?

It's definitely a good idea but in the winter the snow and ice form in that area blocking air from getting in. I think they should have given it a little more thought and but the vents more under the hood. If you don't have to worry about snow and ice then it's a good idea. I was thinking of putting some window screen under the stock plastic that is there. That will at least keep out the debris.

No snow issues for me.
I was wondering how quickly the filter will clog and need cleaning, and is it an easy task.
Do the wiper arms need removing each time?... can't get mine off

It looks like it doesn't cover the arms and has holes for the washer squirters to fit through.

You took the whole box out and didn't replace the dash? Shame, shame. Otherwise good job and let us know how those filters last.

Yes it's a thick mesh that can be removed and rinsed out if it gets clogged.

Good point about the snow and ice, luckily I don't need to worry bout that too often. I think there's enough gaps and cracks under the cowl that enough air should still pass.

I removed the arms to find that I didn't need to. The filters can be easily removed for cleaning in only a couple minutes. I'll have to see how long it takes for them to need a cleanout.

Yes, there's holes for the wiper wash squirters. They thought of that at least.

I was in a time crunch and until this job my dash was flawless. However I knew it was brittle cause my gauge bezel was cracking. If I had more time I would have replaced it. Now that I've pulled the dash once I feel it's not too bad to get out again, but true that!

I am, in no way, affiliated with this company but thought I would post this as an FYI.
