Default I Can't Believe No One Knows The Trans Temp PID?

I recently bought a used one owner '97 Ram 1500 with the factory tow package from my neighbor. I "upgraded" because my Dakota didn't like towing. I loved the Dakota, but the Ram is awesome! My son bought my Dakota (stays in the family)...Bonus!

I bought a Bluetooth ODBII adapter and the Torque app to monitor MPG and was hoping to see the tranny temp too, but nope. While installing my remote start keyless entry system I noticed the Ram has a Tran Temp light under the heater dial. Awesome...It's possible, but no where on the WWW can I find the Holy Grail of Dodge PID's!!!

It blows my mind...We can put a man on the moon, but...

Unfortunately, these trucks don't take actual temp readings from the trans. The temp sensor only tells the computer if it's too hot or too cold. That's been my experience at least.

If you really want to know what it's running at do a search for "trans temp gauge" in here. There is a lot of info about where to mount them and what to expect.

The PCM knows what the trans temp is. Some of the better scanners can read it. Most of the low-buck ones cannot.

I'll be installing a temp gauge within the next few days.

What's surprising to me is you can't find the hacked PID from someone who's used a high end scanner and then posted the information.

They worked so hard to find the info that they are keeping it all to themselves. The bas-turds.

185 -210 degrees operating temp is avg.Hotter than that it starts melting seals and glazing disks.
