Hay all lost the top of e1 i1 i3 on a new cam. Thinking it may soft, anyone see this before? Cam is a well known manufacturer and smallish for a 5.9 truck is a 2001 1500 one owner 200k mi. Mobile 1 from brake in and looks new inside. Sorry I can't spell or write to good.

Did you put any break-in lube on the cam at installation?

Lifters were used but I cleaned, tested, and inspected them. Used RP assembly lube with Edl. brake in oil. The cam was a replacement for a stock cam that got broken do to dog bone that let a lifter turn. Pulled motor and did a full inspection and micrometer run through. My brake in was dun old school flat tappet way. Replaced one rod and one cam bearing that had some age look. Thanks
