Default new timing chain slack?

Hello,

So I just installed a new double roller timing set while I was doing my plenum and I noticed then it seems kind of loose for a new set... Is the extra slack taken up by oil pressure when the motor is running or..? I am almost finished with work and want to make sure this isn't a huge problem before it's too late. Thank you

I installed the Cloyes Double Roller on mine long ago, there was a tiny bit of slack after installation, I'd like to think that's normal, can't see how it would go on if there wasn't a little bit of wiggle room.

A little slack is pretty common. Unfortunately, even double row timing chains will stretch a bit with use. I really like using the Mopar Performance small block timing chain tensioner to keep tension on the chain at all times, which keeps timing rock steady for years.

Yep, almost same slack as the stock chain. Depends where the gears line up.
