Default Need help with tires.

I just purchased a 97 Ram 3/4-Ton off a family member to use as a Hunting Rig in the rough back country in the southern Missouri Ozarks.

I took it out for the first time this past weekend deer hunting . I quickly noticed that the tires on it are just not working. They have great traction but the areas where the old county roads cross creek beds or soft fields I have issues with the tires cutting in. (I assume its due to the 3/4 ton being a fairly heavy truck)

The current tires are 265/75R16. I'm wanting to go with something a bit wider and noticed that the 315/75R16 has a really nice selection of tires.

I just don't know what will actually fit under the truck, and how much wheel offset I will need.

The truck does have what I'm told is a factory lift (possibly 4in) and that it came with a snow plow option.

On a 2500 a 315/75r16 will fit. I have them on my truck with a 16x8 rim with 5" backspace. I have a 2.5" level (with stock control arms), but the same rim were on a non leveled truck and did not rub at all either.
