Default How to Remove PS Pump From Reservoir

I bought a new pump, but I need to separate the old pump from the reservoir to replace the old pump......how the hell do I get it out? The pump/reservoir and bracket are out of the truck.

I'd like to try nonetheless for the experience. So, what is the best way to do this? I need to get the pump out of the reservoir

I suspect it is held in place on the back. Can you post a photo of the back of the pump?

It's held on by the flow control valve. (the one the pressure line screws into.) Take that out, and the reservoir should come right off. I have never had any success in getting the old tank to seal on the new pump though... They always seem to leak, no matter what I do.

I just did a pump but I got the one that comes with a reservoir. Save yourself the headache as it's bad enough removing hoses and the stupid bracket between the pulley. Idiot design in my opinion. Napa sells both options.

Of course, my new pump didn't help any and now leaks at the high pressure hose. . .
