I know this thread is a couple months old but here is a link to a page I found with a Google search. It lists specs for the brakes on the gen 2 truck.

My 01 1500 has dual pistons in the front, do they offer close rating to 2500 Ld single pistons, and a gmc 3500 rear piston from what year fits the rear axle of 1500, those sound like cheap upgrades when using factory pads rotors and shoes.

Other then wildwood or brembo the front is as good as it's going to get. The rear any 90 Chevy or GMC wheel cylinder will fit

well I guess it’ll have less nose dive with the big 1 ton rear pistons, sounds like that’ll be nice for towing my camper, I guess in the front I’ll get some ebc pads and rotors for the front compared to cheap duralast those make a huge difference.

I heard the power brake Z6 Tow kit (cheapest on Rockauto) improves it really well

yeah I’ve always wondered about power stop I’ve gotten drums off rockauto they were painted and the cheapest so that was nice but I guess their tow package should do something different to just regular.

PowerStop is it's own company and everybody who has bought that kit says it helped a lot.
