HeyYou,
What year did the HD model start having dual piston front calipers? Could have sworn the 8800lb calipers were single pistons, but I've got a 1997 truck.

I *think* it started in 98..... as when I asked to have a look at calipers for my truck, they showed me the dual piston fellers first...... Then I had them show me the light duty calipers, which were what I was actually needing. The single piston calipers were shown only for the 7500GVW trucks... Which struck me as really strange. I think the LD 3/4 ton option went away in 96 though. Just another one of those things Dodge does, that we get to puzzle over.

My truck is indeed an HD 2500 version..... (8800 lb GVW)

So for my 99 1500 sport, I ill select the 99 base ( that's the only options for 2500) and go with the 8000gvw calipers?

And the 1-1/16 cylinders?

Only question I have is with the bigger bore, does the 1500 pads retainers still fit snug inside the bore sleeve? No issues?

Damn, for me to replace ecerything , Rotors, calipers, pads, lines on front and cylinders, shoes and drums on rear...$323.00 plus tax.
Hopefully its not an issue with the master cylinder or brake booster?

Yeah, I knew they were double piston by 2002, but I was pretty sure it was single piston till at least 1997.

I bought my calipers at NAPA, and I'm pretty sure I've got the 8800lb GVW version calipers. The calipers I bought though, are single piston. I might see if I can get the casting numbers for you and compare. I'm running those calipers with 2500 pads and 1500 rotors.

Do you have the part numbers? You should be in the Napa database now.

Me too and I have a 98. I got the 8800lb ones as well for a 98 and they are definitely single piston. I think they switched when the 6spd manual with the H.O. 24V Cummins came out in 2000 or 01 I can't remember off the top of my head.
