Default Torque converter replacement

Which is the preferred method to replace-pulling trans or engine?

At 120k, I figured since paying for labor to pull tranny, I'd spring for the rebuild.

Any pro/cons I should consider?

Thanks

Are you going to have the trans rebuilt? Then it will need to come out anyway.....

As for which is easier, pulling the motor, or the trans...... That is a tough call. I think it depends on the day, and the phase of the moon...... Especially on a 4x4.

Had to replace the torque converter on my 96 4x4 a couple of years ago, the shop dropped the transmission to replace it. Unfortunately for me, the morons pinched the wire for the crankshaft position sensor when they bolted it back up. 6 months later it wore through, grounded out and fried the ECM. Truck was down for 10 days until a new one could be brought in
