I've got the Snow Plow Prep Group on my '98. While it's good to have all the goodies that it came with (mentioned above by Burning Rom), if you install one on your truck, plan on a tranny rebuild in the future. Ours just got rebuilt 2 weeks ago. The plow duty early in it's life took a toll on the auto tranny internals (hard parts, that changed a simple 2K rebuild into a 3K REBUILD). All the forward and Reverse driving. Our truck only has 55K on the clock.

Unless you put one on an older truck with a 727 in it The Ramcharger I plow with has 130,000 on the clock and the plow has been on it since 75,000. The only thing it's ever been used for since we've had it is plowing snow and hauling wood. 15 years of that, and the only thing I've had to do to the tranny is adjust the reverse band. I've never even changed the fluid, although enough of it has leaked out over the years that it's probably fully replaced itself once or twice over [8D]

The biggest thing that's hard on a transmission when plowing (especially an auto) is not fully stopping before going from R to D or D to R. With the older hydraulic autos it's not so bad, but the newer electronic autos just can't seem to handle it. You should also let your truck idle in Neutral for 5-10mins. after you're done plowing before you shut it off. It gives the fluid a chance to cool down and also helps to recharge your battery Just some tips that suprisingly a lot people who plow don't know about.
