Default Exhaust Flange Bolts?

I discovered leaking at my on my exhaust flange so went to get this kit from HELP. I've never come across bolts that come with those clips. Any idea how/where they are used?

nevermind, it holds the head if the bolt in place and then has a tab that hooks over the flange so you don't have to have a wrench on both ends at the same time. helps to open it and play with it

If you haven't taken the old ones off yet you will discover that the bolt heads(and nuts) rust so bad neither a standard or metric wrench will fit it. I had to cut mine off with die grinder and cutting wheel. I replaced them with stainless steel, I also welded on a nut to the head of the bolt to keep it from turning.

cool, thanks for the heads up. I got to looking at those tabs and wondered how dependable they would be. I'm waiting for a "warm" day somewhere do get under there.
