Water pump and plug wires

I know the diagram doesn't match our trucks at all. But the part # seems correct?

Actually, yes. Your voltmeter is using low voltage (probably only a 9v battery at best). If you have a bad coil, your spark may have 2 gaps to jump, one IN the coil and one at the spark plug. You're losing power and spark then. The ohms function on your voltmeter will not have enough oomph to jump the gap and give you an open circuit.

Now, that said, I am questioning myself.
The old school coils (the round ones) were that way. With the electrical system on these, where the PCM provides the ground (instead of positive volts from the disty), I don't know. Not sure why these would be any different but you never know. Maybe you can't ohm it out the way I said. If yours is cracked, I would replace it on general principles anyways.

I got my Magnecor wires today. When I was installing them, I figured I might as well inspect the 7000 mile old distributor cap and rotor. They didn't look brand new, but they weren't terrible either. I cleaned up all the contacts with emery cloth and reinstalled the cap and rotor and the new wires. Took it for a test drive and it runs perfect. I should have the new OEM coil in another couple of days and I'll put that on too.
All 8 plugs looked the same (surprising to me), and I'd ay they looked pretty good. Lean, if anything?
Thanks for the advice guys, I'm happy with the quality of the Magnecor wires. Hopefully they last the lifetime of the truck, and all my misfires are a thing of the past now.
