Default 46RE Calling trannsmission gurus

Should the overdrive unit be full of fluid? I just pulled mine and it was darn near completely dry.

Just curious if that was what caused it to fail. I can feel metal grinding turning that thing by hand.

Fluid flows thru there, but, when you shut off the truck, most of it will drain back out. Is your pump putting out good flow? Find any chunkys in the pan?

Just a lot of glitter. no big chunkies. Only had 500 miles on it since I dropped the pan last. It feels like a bearing quit in the OD. Planning on doing a post mortum next month

How would I go about checking good pump flow?
