Then you most certainly need shorter pushrods. Does your resident wrench have a pushrod length checker?

According to the pics the pushrods are fine, he hasn't backed the adjuster out of the rocker to make the adjustment. He has no clue, does he know they are adjustable and he needs to back off the set screw?. Watch some vidz and install them yourself. This mechanic of yours is outside of his knowledgeable skill set and doesn't seem to be able to research and learn this task.

Get a measurement of your pushrods with a digital caliper or micrometer tool to verify length.

Hopefully he has not damaged the valves by rotating the motor with the adjusters at full length!

Sure looks like he has! The set on the engine are backed out. The set in the hand, no, not adjusted.

Niccage, if I were you I would call someone like hughes engines or Richard at Hipotek and let them know your situation. They most likely will be able to set you up with the correct push rods so your mechanic friend has some place to start, I imagine that there isn't to many mopar specialists in central america for him to talk to and that can make things difficult I'd imagine.

Can you just use the oem pushrods? At least try it on one to see if the valves close? If he can adjust them properly with oem rod, then your pushrods are too long.

I don't still have them. I changed the cam and pushrods over a year ago.
I actually ordered an adjustable pushrod so I can get the proper length. I couldn't find one in this country. So I just have to wait a few weeks :

You can actually make up an adjustable pushrod yourself, if you'd like. Take one of your pushrods you have and cut out about a 1" section near the top of the pushrod. Find a piece of small diameter threaded rod and use a tap to thread the inside of each piece of remaining pushrod. Once you have the threads cut on each end of the pushrod, add in your threaded rod to join the pushrod back together and you now have a home-made adjustable pushrod.

I have similar setup, same 1.7 HS adjustable rockers, Odessa heads, and a cam designed with 1.7 rockers in mind since I already upgraded rockers to 1.7 b4 deciding to upgrade cam. For reference my comp cams hardened pushrods are 6.9 inches. Curious what is causing your issue, I'm thinking the combination of cam and 1.7 rockers may be to blame, usually you want to stick with 1.6 ratio rockers and let the cam do the lifting. Did you tell your cam supplier you had the larger 1.7 rockers? I used an adjustable pushrod length checker b4 ordering my pushrods. Good luck my friend.

Aren't the pushrods hardened? And wouldn't you need a jam nut (or red locative)?
