5-7? Only downhill with a tailwind. With a tuner, maybe 2.

What's a good way to get better fuel mileage. I watched a video with a guy that had an 03 and was getting about 14 highway and put a fuel maxx chip in and ended up get 18 almost 19 miles to the gallon. The only ones I couldn't for my truck at a decent price was 25-40 and it plugs into the obd 2 port

If your truck is 4wd and you are getting 14mpg be happy. 15-16 if everything is perfect on your truck with a tuner. 2wd would be a little better, maybe around 17mpg. These trucks were never built to be good on gas. Those chips you're looking at are total garbage and do nothing.

This. Those chips are just a scam. They will do absolutely nothing for you, aside from lighten your wallet. (which might net you better gas mileage, depending on your wallet.....)

There is no magic fix for our trucks extreme lack of anything resembling 'economy'. It's a 5000+ pound brick, being forced thru the air. It is never going to get 'good' gas mileage.

If you want better fuel economy, buy something that was actually DESIGNED for gas mileage.......

heck no DONT buy in to the snake oil and don't believe K&Ns drop in claims.. I have the SCT with the economy tune on my 5.9L and only picked up 1mpg

BIGGEST MPG increase came from a 10" round AC running a 2.75" accel blue filter
picked up about 2mpg of course now that's its cold out again with the winter blend im back to about 12.8

I quit counting my gas mileage years ago. All I know is it's thirsty but I'm pushing 35's so I don't expect good millage. Keep up on your fuel injector cleaner, maybe get a better flowing air filter and a new cap and rotor. Those will make sure you are getting the best your truck is capable of.
