Alright I'm going to be sure to replace that then because I've also been hearing a whistle until it heats up since I took it off to clean it.

Thanks!

It's just a thin paper gasket. Mine was like 2 bucks at Advance Auto.

Yep, in that area you could even do the cardboard gasket trick.

Well it seems like looking for a Mopar IAC is one thing but finding one from a dealer is another. I called up all the dealerships around me and the guys told me they discontinued the part. I guess I'm going to have to find an aftermarket version that will work for me then.

you might try here or google around for genuine mopar parts. there are a few different sites that are similar to this. I haven't ever ordered from any of them, so I can't vouch for the "genuine" part of it.

You might try looking at the 2000 model of your truck on rockauto, the delphi IAC is offered there. The thing I'm not sure of is if it's compatible or not...
The other brands listed are same part numbers as 98, 99 so far as i can tell but maybe someone that knows for sure will let us know for sure?

bought my genuine Mopar IAC off of ebay, one of the Mopar parts sellers sells there also..

and I would bet 99.9% that it is your issue, I stuck a brand new off brand IAC on my truck in fall of 15 and started having trouble a month later BUT that couldn't be the problem because it was new, after chasing it for couple months I bought the mopar IAC and have been trouble free since
