Default 4WD shock on a 2WD Ram 1500?

Recently bought my grandpas old 2001 Ram 1500 2WD, and am soon going to be putting coil spacers on the front springs and replacing all the shocks due to them being bottomed out (they are the original shocks)

Im worried if i buy stock 2WD front shocks, they will be too short for the 2.5" coil spacer. I noticed the extended/collapsed length of a 4WD shock is about 4 inches greater than a stock 2WD shock, and it looks like it should mount up.

Has anyone done this before? Ill take any advice (I'm new here)

If you put on rancho shocks they will ask if it has a lift and how much. Then it will display the different shocks for your truck. I would imagine it's like that for most shock manufacturers.

Need to be sure the shocks will be SHORT enough, so that you won't be using them as bump stops.... They don't last long under that kind of duty.

Ill check them out. I don't want to spend too much on this build, because I'm a broke college student and already building a Camaro. thank you!

I was worried about the travel. i could take stock ride height + 2.5 for the spacers and then see if the collapsed length is greater or smaller than that. also i could move the bump stop lower to be safe if at all possible.
