so i have 1 1998 5.9l 4x4 ram 1500 without transmission. i bought a 1994 5.2l 4x4 ram with a good tranny. torque converter went out and ive never replaced one before. so how do i find the right torque converter? the one that is out is a 878 code with 27 spline. . and idk sence im switching tranny from truck to truck. will i need a different torque converter. someone please help:icon

 

The 94 trans won't work in the 98 truck. Things changed in 96, and the trans went from hydraulic control, to electronic. You need a trans out of a 96 or newer 4x4.

ok but im havinig trouble finding a torque converter for the 94 ram. i looked up the code 878 with the most 24 spline. i need a 27 spline 131 tooth gear

 

If youre looking for a stock TC have you tried the auto parts stores? Maybe a local race shop? I'm sure if not in stock they can order one in.
