I believe my truck may be getting too much fuel. if you let it idle long enough it seems to load up and stumble. then occasionally while drive it'll spit and sputter until you put it to the floor briefly then it goes away. looking for ideas on that.

also do the frame braces really work? I have a little play in the steering and would like to get it out if I could. the front end is tight, thanks

 

What year is your truck? What temp does the PCM think the engine is? (prolly need a scan tool for that info.....) If the temp sensor for the PCM is on its way out, and telling the PCM that it's really cold out, it will dump more fuel, and lead to your problem.

If the engine runs great for about two to three minutes, and THEN starts having issues..... Unplug the front O2 sensor, and try again. (will set a code, and turn on the check engine lite.) If unplugging the sensor makes the problem go away, replace the sensor. (NTK or Denso please, skip the bosch sensors, they tend to be problematic.)

Yep, and it uses the same sensor for the PCM. PCM just passes the info on to the cluster, as to what temp to display. Have a look at the sensor. It is just to the drivers side of the thermostat housing. The connectors like to get old, and brittle, and things just stop working as they should.
