O2 sensor bank 1 sensor 2
Is that the "downstream" sensor? I get different references. Not sure which I need. My code reader tells me it is bank 1 sensor 2. The car parts store wants to know upstream or downstream. I assume that since it is behind the catalytic converter it is downstream.
1998 Ram 1500 with 281,900 miles so far. Although I bought it used, it only had 67,000 when I got it. This will be the first O2 sensor I've had to replace so I consider myself very lucky. Very little major repair has been needed as of yet. HOWEVER, I'll be replacing it soon. The transmission is slipping and I'm not interested in putting enough money to repair/replace it on a vehicle with this many miles.
I love my truck, but not that much.

I don't really know much about automatic transmissions so doing the rebuild myself is out. And perhaps, 30 years ago when my body could take that kind of punishment I might look at putting in another transmission. I have done clutches before so I'm not afraid of the work - well I wasn't when I was younger.
Plus, the body is getting pretty rough. I could fix that also, but again 261,900+ makes all that work not worth it to me. I've been browsing, looking at a Durango vs a pickup next time.
