I have a 99 1500 2x. Considering changing to a 4x frame, since I have access to one with the front end. Realize there will be issues. I don't think I can add on a transfer case to original 2x auto tranny. Rear end, not sure if anything outside of gear changes. My engine has under 20k on it and the body is great. Wheelbase is the same for both frames.
Anyone 'attempted' this.

 

Frame swap's are a wiz to do.I'vdone a few myself. Having a lift or 2 around would be nice.Lot of impact tools too speed the transfer of parts,andextra hands for moving parts around.Forklift if possible,the 4x4 frame is a little heavy than. frame the 2x4 . You will need the trans and t-case from a 4x4 truck as well. Preferably something that came behind the same size engine that you have.
