Default Magnaflow Questions

Hey everyone,
I have a 2001 1500 Laramie 4x4 with a 318 and a 5 speed. Right now I have a flowmaster deltaflow 40 series muffler on it and it's getting annoying on long rides. The drone is what is really getting on my nerves. I have heard many good things about magnaflows and I really like the sound of them but don't know which one to get. I want something that is comparably as loud as the flowmaster but without the drone on the highway. If you guys could give me some input I would really appreciate it and I apologize if this is in the wrong section.

Thank you,
Frank

Just swap the 40 for a 50! I ran the Deltaflow 50 for ten years and it was whisper quiet on hwy. I take two road trips per year from the west coast to MN, IL, or TX and it was always very comfortable and quiet. Once you get in 5th, it quiets right down but taking off and shifting it sounds awesome, as good as a 40.

Unfortunately, the exit pipe rusted off so I hacked it all off and just threw on a cheap glass pack which is no where near as loud or as fun.

I've got the Magnaflow muffler, no complaints! Sadly, I don't know which one is on my truck, the local exhaust shop picked it out...

I have a Dynomax UltraFlo 3" muffler on my truck and I'm very happy with it. I bought the longest 3" version that I could find in their catalog that had a 3" offset inlet and center outlet. If your truck is using the stock exhaust size, you will need a 2-1/2" muffler offset inlet and center outlet. I went with the longest muffler to help keep it quiet.
