Default 1998 ram 2500

I just bought a ram 2500 and when floor it, it is very slow to get up to speed, then the other day I hit the gas pedal a little harder and there was like a click past where I thought I was flored and then the pedal goes a little bit lower and truck goes much faster even without floring it, but when I put it in park it resets it. I don't know what it is or what I could be

What have you checked so far?

Did you sell the Dakota to buy the Ram?

take the air cleaner off so you can see the throttle plate and look for any binding.

You would see the throttle plate or cable or linkage binding.

I'm no expert but from what I could see there was no binding from the plate or the cable, anything else I could check? Everyone that drives it says it's very strange and have no idea what it is

Check the cable inside the truck as well. Make sure it isn't fraying out.....

It's basically a direct link from the pedal, to the throttle body. There aren't any switches, or anything of that nature to it. If it's an automatic, it might be something in the trans, (via the tv cable) that you are feeling.....

Check the TV cable, see if it has any issues, or, if moving it doesn't feel quite right.
