Default Best Budget Tuner?

I'm looking for a tuner for my 98 ram 1500 with a 360. Being my cheap self I thought, Whats the cheapest one I can get? Has anybody used any "budget" tuners (<$350)? I might even try an ebay one if it seems to be of okay-ish quality, just for the heck of it.

I have a Hypertech and honestly other than being able to adjust my speedo for my tire size I don't see much of a difference. I ran it on the premium tune and then tuned it back to the 87 tune as I see absolutely no difference. I probably wouldn't spend my money on it again.

Yep, go sct. I personally have used hemifevertuning with good results and others have had good results with flyin ryan perfomance. Both are sct based custom tuners ~$400.

There is no such thing as a GOOD CHEAP tuner. As they always say you get what you pay for. You want to get a SCT tuner like the others have suggested. Ryan from Flyin Ryan isn't doing 2nd gen Dodge's anymore unless you going to him or meet up with him for a dyno day some where.

Hemifever will do just as good of a job for you and is great to work with. Check out his web site and go from there.

Yea I've got these 3200's in stock for $399. I'll put a handful of tunes on there. I've been tuning on these since '05 and SCT has come a long way with the programming so if anybody has old tunes of mine hit me up for updates as there's much better tuning abilities these days

I have a question for Hemifever:

I installed a Hypertech back in the day when it was just them or Superchips. I have deathflash and it helped but pinged terribly. So over the years, I would use it awhile then go back to deathflash but always kept the tire size installed as I run 33s.

Well, some crack ***** stole it last year so my pcm is screwed. Its still installed for tire size but not tuned. What do I do?

And does your tuner adjust for tires? I need this and want the deathflash gone without pinging!

Yes, I'd be interested in hearing more too. Can you change the shift points on the 46RE?

Should you start a new thread? Is that allowed here or should we go offline, go email or such?

my email is hemifever@hemifevertuning.com if you need to email. Upshift shift points can be changed. Downshifts are via the tv cable/mechanical. SCT is not able to alter tire size, however, if you have your tire size set from an old programmer you can install SCT over it and it will not alter the tire size.
