Default Transmission help please

I just did a trans swap with a used trans out of a totaled truck. Dodge 46re. It goes into reverse fine but put it in drive and it won't hardly move.. if I rev the motor it will slowly start moving very slowly never picks up speed... but feels like it is not the drive train moving it.. did I do something wrong?? Any ideas would be helpful. Thanks

Do you know what condition the trans was in before you bought it since it was "used"? Might want to check the bands and pressures.

What year is your truck, and what year was the truck the trans came out of?

I'm ignorant to transmissions.. my truck is a 98 the truck it came out of I have no idea.. was told it came out of a truck that got t-boned.. it goes into reverse fine. If I put in drive it just rolls forward slowly. It doesn't feel like it is pulling. But if I put it in park it grinds. It is 4x4. I've tried adjusting transfer case. That doesn't seem to help.would a bad t-case allow it to go into reverse and not forward?

T-case has nothing to do with whether the trans works or not. If you can move it around in reverse, then the t-case is fine. (for purposes of moving the truck at least.....)

Try unplugging the 8 pin connector on the drivers side of the trans. Put it in first gear, and see if it wants to move better.
