Default Fuel pump.1995 b2500 5.2l glaval conversion van

How can I access or check the fuel pump/filter without dropping the full 32 gallon tank.. Just found some frayed wires, fixed them ,All codes are gone replaced tps and o2... Now it will barely stay running longer than 10 seconds. If I spray starting fluid in the throttle body it well south out and run until I stop spraying... If in going the wrong direction please let me know thanks!!

I would suggest that you do a fuel pressure test prior to tearing into it, and do it as a last resort. If you do have to tear into it, it would help to manually pump out as much fuel as you can into gas cans or another vehicle. Manual pumps are available at an auto parts store. lower the tank as it will be easier without fuel. You could build a door inside the van just over the fuel pump location for future issues.

The pic I'm wondering what this part is called...it gets very hot and clicks every time I touch the gas pedal?
Where would I cut the hole to access from interior? Relay looks new, is there any other reason it would only stay running while spraying starting fluid ? If I pedal the gas quickly and short enough it will stay running...barely
