Are there no other engines available? Personally, I'd try to find a later model 5.9 engine (for the added power than what the 5.2 provides and simplicity of the swap), however, as HeyYou has mentioned, the '93 engine 'should' work, but you will have to deal with the EGR block off and engine wiring harness differences at a minimum. Also, you must have the flex plate off the 5.2 engine, as the flex plate from a 5.9 is weighted and won't work with the 5.2.
