Low RPM in 3rd?
So my truck seems to have its powerband really take off from like 2000rpm. Under low throttle, shifts like you'd expect, just keeping it low and chill. WOT is as you'd expect, high rpm all the way, instant downshift. Under hardish accell, (not WOT but half or more throttle), shifts out of 1st at like 2450ish down to about 1900, then shifts at like 2300 and all the way down to like 1650 for 3rd gear, talk about making it feel sluggish since it doesnt pick up RPM/Speed very well down that low. Is this normal, and just feels this way because of my powerband? or something strange? What could make it feel sluggish downlow?
Truck is an 01 Sport 5.9, Have shorty headers, Hemifever 89 tune loaded on it, and a throttle body mod to delete those silencers, 3.92 rear, automatic.

Trans in park, throttle closed. There should be NO slack in the cable at all. It really helps to have someone help you with it, one person under the truck, holding the lever the cable pulls in place, and another up top, actually checking the adjustment. Adjustment procedure is in the service manual. (and I think its posted in a fair few threads as well.) It really is a simple check. It just *seems* complicated.

If this isn't the issue what else would you expect?
Well, you have the 46RE trans, so, all the shifting is pretty much controlled by the computer. Of course, if the computer is getting bad information, you get screwy shifting behavior. If the TV cable adjustment doesn't really help, then its time to data log, and see what sensor isn't doing it's job properly.

I went ahead and adjusted it myself, making sure to pull from the rear of the thing not the front, so it would adjust properly to have proper tension at 0 throttle. Moves instantly when I pull the throttle and much less slack. Drives WAY better, staying in gear longer when I've got the pedal down, and downshifts better when I need it to.
