Default Is there a simple way to fix this?

My seat is stuck in the fully reclined position, and I've been using a pillow behind me. This cable in the picture snapped, and I can't even seem to get my fingers anywhere behind this metal seat siding, it's totally sealed almost. Pulling the seat out and taking it apart is the only other thing I think I'm left with....

Is that the only way, or is there a trick?

I already tried to cut into the housing cable to try to grab the broken cable with some pliers to try to get the seat back up, but it ain't happenin', so I'm probably gonna need a new housing cable also.

I read about someone successfully using a bicycle brake cable to save money, any thoughts on that?

Thanks

The recliner is actually mount to the seat bottom, isn't it?

Bike brake cable should work just fine. (that looks suspiciously similar......) Get yourself some parts, take the seat out, and do it up. I think that will actually turn out to be easier than trying to deal with it in place.

Please take some pictures of the process while you're fixing it. The same thing happened to my seat.

I'm actually parting a truck out right now and just pulled the seat apart yesterday. I stole the seat cushion from it and could scavenge that cable if you want it.
