Default Temp gauge broken

I have an 01 Cummings 24 valve Ram 2500, 6speed, 4x4.
I pulled the gauge cluster to clean the contacts.
Now the coolant temp gauge needle just sits up toward the hot pin.
Doesn't matter if power is on or off, or if the cluster is removed from the console. The needle just sits in the hot zone.
My guess is that the gauge itself is broken. Can I get a new temp gauge or do I have to buy another whole cluster?
I performed the gauge sweep test. All other gauges swept full range. Temp gauge started at 200 then went all the way to the hot pin. Broken gauge?
Any help would be much appreciated.

It's good to have another opinion. They aren't cheap!
Thanks

I don't know if the cluster from a 98 is the same as an 01 but if it would work I have one from a truck I'm parting out.

I'll have to research that. What I do know is that it has to be out of another Cummins Ram with a manual trans.
How much do you want for that cluster?
