Default No Bu5 message

I have a 1999 Ram 1500, that I bought for $500. The truck runs and drives, but will only go up too 3rd gear, also the instrument panel is not working and my the mileage will pop on for about 10 seconds when I start the truck and then it starts flashing no Bu5. I don't know if there's a sensor that's bad or what, But if you have any experience with this or think you know what's wrong with it, it is greatly appreciated, thanks.

I found this one while googling "no Bu5". Literally because it had me curious.
