Default 17' tires

HI can someone recommend a good replacement tire for my 2001 4x4 sport it has 275/70/17 Goodyear wrangler GSA on it now. these tires suck in the rain, looking for a tire that is good in rain and snow. PS. I do not use the truck off road. thanks

I have 285/70/17 BF Goodrich All Terrain T/A's on my truck. They seem very good in rain and snow, much better then the Michelens I had prior (on 16" rims). They are a long lasting tire too. Click on the link in my signature if you want to see how they look on those 17" off-road rims. Cooper makes a variety of tires in 17" (check their website), and I think you can get an all season Pro Comp tire in a 17" rim too.

Don't bother with the Cooper tires! I've got them on mine and they are terrible in the snow and barely acceptable in the rain. They are wearing at an incredible rate. I have 9500 miles on them and they are over 1/2 gone. I would go with the BFG A/T's or the mickey thompsons.

I know this isn't exactly relevant to you, but I have Futura Adventurers 245/75/16 front, 265/75/16 rear. The fronts have over 20,000 on them and look nearly new. The rears only have 2500-3000 on them. Excellent in the rain, haven't had them in snow yet, maybe tomorrow. They are also good in construction site type mud situations. Maybe Pec&er Boys has them in 17" sizes also.
