hi
I just put a new fuel pump in my 26 gal fuel tank.. and putting the plastic hose on the vent I find it loose and then I notice its a fake vent as there is no actual hole in the vent and since the plastic line is loose on it then that means it vents gas out the pipe..
why is this hose on here if its a fake vent why not just a round short piece and is there a way to re shrink the hose back on the pipe I uploading a youtube video to help after explain the situation

I was thinking maybe just shove a bunch of black rtv silicone in the pipe and shove on the fake vent
