Default 99 Ram 1500 4×4 318 5.2l v8

Hey everyone, I'm new to this but I was wondering some simple, kinda cheap ways to add power and style to my truck. And also I need a little help with why my tranny seems to take a sec to engage when in first gear. I'll push the gas but it takes a second to actually start moving. I recently had the tranny from a 360 swapped into my truck which has the 318. Could that have anything to do with it?. Thank you in advance for and opinions and advice.

Honestly unless you have $500+ there is nothing you can do to add any noticeable power. Swapping tranny shouldn't have anything to do with that. Is there enough fluid in it? Any codes?

Has the check valve been removed? If it has, then, a slight delay first thing in the morning isn't unusual.

If you look under the hood, the line going to the bottom fitting on the radiator... follow it back from the fitting on the radiator, and where it changes from rubber, to metal, before it bolts to the line coming from the trans, there is a check valve. They like to clog up, and you get NO flow thru the coolers...... That will eat your transmissions lunch in pretty short order.

try putting it in neutral for a couple minutes before shifting into drive and taking off... also be sure your fluid is at the right level (checked in neutral...) and not burnt... new fluid and having the right amount can make a world of difference. I would NOT backflush it...
