Default Vent stuck on defrost (vacuum checked)

Alright I have a 99 ram 5.9l. I just bought it and the heat only blows out the defrost vents and the speed selector didn't work. I replaced the resistor and now my speeds are good. Now I've been through every thread I could find about air out the defrost vents. I have tracked vacuum through the whole system and I definitely have vacuum all the way through up to the back of my selector switch. Now I opened the switch and found it has vacuum but no seal, is it supposed to have a rubber gasket or something to hold the vacuum?

I don't think you can get parts to repair it. If it's busticated, likely replacement is your only option.

Welcome to DF!

Thanks for the welcoming.

That's the thing, I don't know if the switch is busted. As far as power it works and checks out. I just didn't know if there was supposed to be something else inside of it. I didn't find anything that didn't look right.

Put it all back together, and see if you are getting vacuum to the right spots on the actuator side of the switch. (doesn't sound like you are....) with the switch out, you may even be able to hear if it is leaking vacuum.....
