Default replaced crank sensor now motor knocks

I have a 2001 dodge ram that quits when it warms up. I replaced the crank sensor started it up now the motor is knocking and get code p1391. this is not good because I just purchased the hughs plenum gasket but now I am scared to install it with the knock. the motor now seems to be flooding out idling up and down and sounded like its sucking air. I have read posts for hours on here im stumped thanks

P1391 Intermittent Loss of CMP or CKP
What brand crank sensor did you put in it? Code is for intermittent loss of crank or cam sensor. What does the knock sound like pre ignition or something metallic?

I would suggest replacing the cam sensor too.

12 volts is battery voltage. Charging should be north of 14. Low voltage will give you some truly interesting performance problems. Fix that first.

Also, what brand sensors did you buy? These trucks really don't get along well with aftermarket sensors, in critical locations....
