Ok. I'll check the circuit for the starter tonight. I'm just a little concerned about what I could be done by giving it too much juice. I guess I'll just have to drive it and see if any issues appear, or rerun, like the gauge issues.

I redid the whole positive battery cable side. Going down to the starter, the PDC, and the small wire going to the connector on driver side fender well. There is on my old harness a 20 gauge fusable link that turns into the red small wire on the battery side of that little connector. I put a new link in, and hopefully that will fix the problem, as well as new wire going to the solenoid. I'm going to be doing my ground cables here soon, just because the battery post terminals are so chewed up anyway.

another question? How much voltage is too much? I find that it's hitting 14.9 about when running now, and when I shut it off the battery reads around 12.9. I know 14.4 is kinda where the happy spot is, but what's normal for these trucks? Is 14.9 too much? Sometimes if I rev it it will bounce up and down between 14.9 and 15.

14.7 or thereabouts isn't unusual. So long as it stays below 15, you are fine. If it starts going higher than that.... may have a regulator issue.
