Default Recently rebuilt 46re slipping

I had my 46re transmission in my 2000 ram 1500 rebuilt 6000 miles ago. A couple days ago it started slipping. This happens between 45-60 mph at or below 1500 rpms. It happens quite often now if I'm cruising on relatively flat roads at that speed. I shut the od off and it didn't happen but I'm not sure if that was just a coincidence as I didn't go that far before having to climb some hills at higher rpms. Could it just be a problem in the od section and if so how could I tell. I'm not sure if the guy that did the rebuild did anything in the od section. I just emailed him about it and am awaiting a response still .

Did you get a warranty? Take it back to whoever did the rebuild instead of relying on email.

I live out "in the woods" and had to drive 125 miles to bring the transmission and to a shop in Rhode Island and had a guy rebuild it as side work for 550bux He responded to my email and said I should check and adjust the shift linkage and throttle linkage and contact him again if that doesn't solve the problem. I'm not confident that will help but I will do it this weekend anyway and see what happens. If I do find out it's the o/d section of the transmission, is it possible to just take that off the transmission and either have it rebuilt or replaced. I installed the transmission myself (twice already) and it looked like if I just dropped the drive shaft and transfer case then I could unbolt the o/d section of the transmission. Is that correct?

Thanks for the response hey you. You have been extremely helpful with all of your answers you have given me about all of the numerous problems this truck has been giving me. Now I just need to figure out how to diagnose if it's just the o/d section or something else. The truck definitely only slips in the top gear and doesn't do it at all if I push the "o/d off" button on the shifter and drive like that.

That definitely sounds like an O/D issue to me...... was that part of the trans rebuilt as well?

Unfortunately, that isn't something you can correct in your home garage... Unless you have a press, and the ability to make the tool you need to release pressure on the humongous spring in there......

If it is the o/d I was planning on just takin it off the transmission and using my wife's truck to bring it back to the guy that did the transmission work before. I don't mess with any internal transmission ,transfer case, etc stuff myself . I have someone with more knowledge and tools than I do that work and I just do the uninstall and install part which I can usually figure out with internet research and the help of this forum
