Default Help with 00’ Ram 2500 Transmission

Hello all, I’m having problems with another trans in my truck. Not sure what is going on with it but i was hoping i could give you all the symptoms and you could point me in the right direction of whether or not i could do something at home or not. Anyways, i was low on fluid a day or so ago so i’m headed to work and i stop at the red light. When i go to takeoff again the truck won’t move, so i turn the key off and turn it back on, shift into drive and it takes off. So knowing it was low on fluid after work i’m on my way to get some put in and it goes out again... on a downhill slope.. and my magic key turning isn’t working this time around. So i had to get it towed and it’s in my driveway. All this on was on Friday and today walkout to check my magic again and it starts to move, but only for about 20 yards before it quits again. Called the shop and they said it sounded like an input shaft but with it moving ever so often that can’t be it. Going to change fluid and filters before i take it anywhere but if you guys maybe have a better plan of attack or have had the same issue i’d love to hear it. Thanks in advance.

Info: 2000 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4
360 engine

Verify fluid level is correct, then, unplug the 8 pin connector on the drivers side of the trans, about halfway back. It plugs straight down into the top of the valve body. (outside of trans.) Then go for a drive. The trans won't have ANY automatic functions, nor will you have TCC, or O/D, so, you will have to shift at the appropriate times. (up and down) If the trans will move the truck, and shift into the gear you tell it to, when you tell it to, all you need to do is change the electronics for the governor. If it still acts odd, time for a rebuild.
