Dumb question, how do you clean the Throttle Body on a 98 5.9L?
For some reason I am too paranoid to touch the TB. I have 2 70's cars w/carburators which I don't mind dicking around with, but my Ram I'm not so sure. It's the only new vehicle I have ever bought and don't want to hose it.
Can someone tell me, if it's possible in a few sentences, how I could clean it? I have been reading all the raves about the Fastman TB and had thought about buying one, but don't have the bucks right now. Now that I have my first check engine light, it was suggested to clean it.

if you can dick around with cabrs... TB are like a walk in the park... all it is... is a tube with a plate in the inside and some sensors screwed on the sides... super easy to clean.. take off your airhat... un bolt the TB from the intake manifold.. and pop off the cables on the passenger side of the TB cable braket.. .its really easy... and you really can screw them up b.c the knots on the ends are sized differently and both are different lengths so one will pretty much go one place and the other one with go another.. take it to the bench shop wherever... try to unscrew the sensors off... i think they use Torx head screws... i noramlly dont do that... get some carba nd TB cleaner and go to town.. i mean dows it.. use a teethbrush and scrub it a bit and then do it again... and work the aciton on it and make sure nothing is gummed up and the springs are still loaded good... after that.. let dry for a bit.. slap it on and start her up... and haynes or chilton can show you how to take it off step by step.. its really easy... 30 mintuit job.. MAX! good luck
