I just talked to my mom and found out my dad before he passed had not change the plugs so my earlier post about the spark plugs being okay is wrong so this weekend I'm definitely checking the spark plugs and probably getting new ones

 

Stick with some good copper plugs. Our trucks don't always care for the rear-earth fellers much.

 

I believe that's what I'll do put the good ones in I want to keep this truck in Tip-Top shape for years to come

 

This would be tcs.the ram has two temp sensors.one for dash gauge,one for computer..you need to change the one that runs the computer.

but ya,if your trucks running rich or flooding out.hard to start warm.dumping way to much gas when warm .it is temp con sensor.

 

98 Should only have one temp sensor. PCM reads the temp, tells the CTM, which in turn, tells the cluster what to display.

 

I changed out the plugs and the exhaust still smells gassy and there's no engine lights on so it won't pull up any code for a sensor not sure what to do.

 

You're getting good mileage, so I think you're chasing a ghost. Like heyyou said, check the fuel pressure bleed off. It will tell you if you have a leaky injector/s. I would also check the fuel pressure regulator... Other than that it's a truck and they tend to smell gassy compared to a Honda or even a new truck.

 

Like the other guys said, get a new temp sensor.

 

I believe y'all might be right I'm chasing a ghost that old truck runs great so I'll just keep up the regular maintenance like it's always had. It only has 106000mi on it so I should get many miles out of it and quite a few years thanks for the replies! ������
