Hi my name is Cully I am new at all this but I would like to know the max towing for my 97 Dodge ram 1500 5.9 four-wheel-drive I have a couple modifications to the truck sitting on a 6 inch suspension lift has 456 gears built transmission with a large transmission cooler and it sits on 35 inch tires I'm looking to make a trip from Lakeland Florida to Athens Alabama hauling a 2005 Ford ranger on a U-Haul car trailer but I wanted to make sure it wasn't too much on the truck

I see numbers ranging from 4300 to 5200 lbs...... Use a trailer with brakes of some variety, and you should be ok. Remember, don't use O/D when towing.

About the OD thing. My local trans guys says to turn it off, but once at highway speed, it's okay to turn it back on, of course you have to turn it off again if you hit a long uphill or stop........Personally, that's what I do. My factory trans cooler is bypassed(PO blew a trans, it was filled with debris) and has a large aux cooler in front of the radiator. If I ever need to replace the radiator, I will plumb it back in.
